Burk Holding Company is the investment and management arm of Burk & Company. The holding company makes both control and passive investments in various industries. A team of experienced operators and investors, the Burk Holding Company continues to look for opportunities to build its portfolio of investments, both control and passive. Burk & Company, a privately held company which was formed in February 2007 through the merger of Burk Construction Corporation and the consolidation of Burk Custom Homes. Through this merger, Burk & Company became the parent company for various subsidiaries and each of their related entities form the Burk Holding Company.
Each subsidiary has access to the skills and knowledge of and the ability to consult within Burk & Company. The member firms are primarily organized on an individual state or regional basis, and each operates within the regulatory framework of its particular jurisdictions. They are separate, independent companies that operate under a common shared methodology, client service standards, and other professional protocols. Burk and Company, a multi-generational, family-owned business is led globally by our managing partner; our elected board of directors, known as the Shareholders Council; and an executive committee, known as the Partnership Service Team. Board members are active member firm partners. The group provides advice and insights on a variety of matters, including strategy, public policy, quality, risk and regulatory matters, and broader stakeholder engagement.
Our Board members have extensive knowledge of the construction industry and experience in the areas of strategic planning, domestic and international markets and business, management, accounting and finance, risk management, corporate governance, and public company leadership and oversight. Our Board members also work with management to encourage entrepreneurship, appropriate risk-taking and investment to promote our long-term success. Our Board actively cultivates a corporate culture that gives high priority to ethical standards, principles of fair dealing, professionalism, integrity, compliance with legal requirements and ethically sound strategic goals.
